Something i did a little while back! Been too lazy and unmotivated to update anything here ever since i’ve been on uni break. 
Recently, I’ve had a very nice reader write in suggesting that I should post up my work on tumblr because tumblr users have been using my images and not crediting back me. (Thanks for the brilliant suggestion!) As much as i’d love to start a tumblr account, i’m not EXACTLY sure i have the commitment level to update 2 blogs at one go. Also, i’m not really sure if I should make this a personal blog, updating with more personal events and making the tumblr blog nails only. Tell me what you think? At the moment, i shall just stick to updating this blog with work and fun things i get up to, things that inspire me as an artist.
So a note to Tumblr users, until i decide what to do with Tumblr myself, please do not rip my images without proper crediting. It’s not fair and it makes me very sad for all the hard work i put into designing my pieces. And if you’d like to see more works and keep me inspired, the only way to do that is to credit my work properly and let me know that you like and enjoy them!

I know it’s a teeny weeny bit early, so here’s a teeny tiny quick post oh well better early than late, or never! Heehee! Nails inspired by a design I saw in the Nail Max Magazine. Really pretty i thought it since i’ve never really been one for red green and gold all on one nail. :p

I have a lovely announcement to make! From this day on, Clara H Nails will be stationed at Tsumiki Salon in Prahran! I’m so glad to have had such a great opportunity to work with this awesome and beautifully decorated Japanese salon, not to mention the owner Taka is an amazing person to work with as well! Take a look at this wonderful salon where i think EVERYONE, especially asians in Melbourne should get their hair done at! Of course also because you can get your nails done with me too heh heh heh. So spread the word Melburnians!

Well here’s an answer to everyone, old readers or new, who’s been wondering what on earth I’ve been doing Down Under. Well being in fashion school takes up plenty of your time, being in a top Australian fashion school is another matter altogether. It calls for 100% dedication, hard-work and there are absolutely no short-cuts. They throw insane amounts of projects and work at you, so you can eventually cope with this infamously known to be tough industry. I’ve managed to survive my first year and i can say i’m lovin’ it! Even if it’s sheer insane hard work that calls for sleepless nights, emotional outbursts, a catty attitude (trust me when you’re this busy, you DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO TALK CRAP TO YOU), and mostly just binging on comfort foods and traumatizing your pet (if you have one).
I am very blessed with a partner who has been 200% positive and supportive with my choices and work and makes me thank my lucky stars for having him in my otherwise lonely and busy life here. I know i haven’t paid much attention to my blog and i keep saying i would, but it is a commitment and its not a commitment i can keep up with my schedule! Luckily for you (last few remaining readers who still bother to read my blog haha) I’m officially off uni for the next 3.5 months and will definitely be putting more effort into this space! It’s such a shame since i’m always inspired and keep telling myself (have to blog!) but never end up showing you wonderful things that inspire me!
So here it is, a short photo roll of my fashion illustration sketches in progress, inspirations from the state library exhibition, garments i made, modeling for fellow schoolmates etc. 
And my latest pride and joy, a jacket that i’ve managed to reconstruct out of a vintage kimono fabric that was in tatters. Made a pair of scallop edged shorts and a beautiful silk shantung blouse with button and loop details. This is how ladies in my opinion, should dress. I for one, cannot tolerate anymore ‘blogshop’ style clothing. Life is short and too beautiful to be wearing cheap disgusting crap ‘designed’ by ‘aspiring’ fashion bloggers. Just watching people pull at their hemlines, or a badly fitted zip, or constantly fiddling with their garment straps or unnecessary appendage they call decoration is disturbing. I’ve been there, done that. I know. Wearing good clothing doesn’t mean you have to be fashion forward all the time. It just means owning quality classic pieces you can always work with and fits your body shape. Appreciate the design and the make of a garment. The thought process that goes into a well made garment will consist of a good concept, quality fabrics and workmanship. Every detail should count.

We’ve approached springtime in Melbourne (yes, every other part of the world is approaching winter). It’s odd here like that. Just like its people. hahaha i kid. So of course with spring comes a new spring palette for the nail aficionados! The n.m.b is loosely based on Cath Kidston’s prints (what is springtime without a Cath Kidston print??) which i’ve been meaning to do forever but only got round to it now! Sparrows, roses, bright colors and horses for the spring races! Enjoy it and spread my work if you love it!

Something exciting is coming to Clara H Nails. I’m still working on it and am fairly certain my melburnian followers will be very pleased with this new collaboration.
I wish i could have done more blog posts, but life has been happening and whizzing by me as i run to classes, rush off to work, researching for ideas, catching up with friends etc.
