Nails For A Charity Event
Happy start of Awesome August!
In June, I got involved in a charity fashion event organized by my school the Whitehouse Institute of Design. It was an annual joint collaboration/fundraiser between the school and Prahran Mission called A[WEAR]. I did the nails for all 8 models, the theme was 80s/90s Ghetto Grunge complete with spray splattered paint t-shirts, neon splashes, vintage knits and leathers and the outfits were restored vintage or 2nd hand pieces by the styling students. Colorful bindis, hot pink lips were the main outline for makeup. Outfits and accessories were for sale, nails were not. I designed the nail tips to be worn tacky dirty ghetto, animal prints and rude slogans on big bright gold and silver chrome 😛 I took some photos but not of all the models, it’ll be enough to give you a rough idea of what the night was all about. 🙂
Dirrrrrrty and Gritty.
These are some of the models on the runway. Truly sorry about the poor resolution, best i could find! Images courtesy of
This was my first foray into charity events and i must say using my skills for a good cause was pretty satisfying. I just felt i would have spent more time on the designs if it wasn’t the fact that it happened towards the end of the semester when EVERYTHING was due. I made new friends, cute and gorgeous girls with personalities. I’ve always thought if i were a dude, this would be my dream job. Meeting chicks all day long. haha, i’ll be a complete dickhead that’s what i’ll be, if i were a dude doing nails :/
ANYWAY. In other random personal news, I just got a new hair color which i’m pretty happy about and i’m going into the mountains tomorrow for tea and scones. Happy times.
Peace out bitchessssssss xx
